THE LETTER REVIEW: BLUE HOUSE ON BLANE STREET.

Blue House of Blane Street is a memoir about my earlier experiences as a Black American Girl, growing up in both the urban ghettos of Washington D.C., and the suburban meadows that stretch across Richmond, Virginia….The Blue House on Blane Street is an exposé on how family dysfunction gets cycled through the child, which manifests as functional psychosexual, psychosocial, and psychological fragmentation.

Introduction:

We all have trauma. Wheather it be due to parental abuse, or experiences gained through romantic relationships. Trauma is not limited to abuse, but can be enforced through experiences of indifference. This applies to professional, platonic, and social interactions as well. its an ugly word;trauma. but nonetheless its an important one. Through exploring the internalization of it, we’re able to better honor the wisdom and intellect black narritives provide to american culture.
